1. Event Overview

The Malaysia Original Buddhism Society (马来西亚原始佛教会), a non-profit organisation, is pleased to announce its “Miles of Kindness” Charity Run (步步为善,缘来有你义跑) on 19 October 2025, a community event raising funds for the Kuala Lumpur Buddhist Center’s construction. This meaningful run brings participants together to support the development of the center while promoting healthy, active lifestyles. We sincerely invite your participation, as your involvement will encourage wellness in the community and help establish a lasting spiritual center that will benefit generations to come.

2. Event Details

Event Date: 19th October 2025

Registration Closing Date: 18th September 2025

Event Location: Taman Botani Negara Shah Alam

Reporting Time: 6:00 am (Safety briefing, warm-up, and national anthem before flag-off).

There will be no baggage storage available at the event.

Race Entry Pack Collection (REPC)

Date             : 12th October 2025 (Sunday)

Time            : 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Location      : Pacers Sport Events Sdn Bhd

  • There will be no Race Pack collection on event day. Please make sure to collect it during the REPC day.
  • There is no mailing service available. If you require any assistance, please contact the event organizer directly.
  • If you are unable to collect the race kit in person, you may authorize someone to collect the Race Entry Pack on your behalf. The representative must present: a copy of your IC and confirmation slip (both soft and hard copies are acceptable).

Race Categories:

  • Two categories: 5 KM and 10 KM
  • 5KM Race: Open to participants aged 10 years and above.
  • 10 KM Race: Men’s Open and Women’s Open: Trophies for the top 5 finishers in each category.
  • Age Requirements: 10 km for participants aged 17 years and above,  5 KM Fun Run for participants aged 10 years and above.
  • Under 10 years: Must be accompanied by a parent/guardian for the Fun Run.

3. Eligibility

  • The event is open to all, and participants enter voluntarily.
  • The 5 KM race category is open to participants aged 10 years and above.
  • The 10 KM race category is open to participants aged 17 years and above.
  • Participants under 10 years old for the 5 km race must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
  • All participants must be in good health and are advised to consult their doctor before registering.

4. Event Registration

  1. By registering for the event, participants grant permission for their personal information to be used by the organizer and event partners for marketing, statistical, and planning purposes.
  2. All online registrants will receive a confirmation email upon successful registration.
  3. By signing up, participants agree to share their personal details with the event’s insurance partner for Group Personal Accident Insurance.
  4. The organizer reserves the right to use photos, videos, or other media from the event for legitimate purposes, including advertising and promotional activities.
  5. The organizer reserves the right to contact participants via email or other communication channels. Any notice sent to the registered email will be deemed as received.
  6. If any information provided during registration is inaccurate, outdated, or incomplete, the organizer may suspend or terminate the participant’s registration. No refunds will be issued in such cases.
  7. Once registration is completed, there will be no refunds for participants who do not attend the event for any reason.
  8. Registration will close on 18th September 2025, or when slots are full, whichever comes first.
  9. There will be no refunds if the event is cancelled due to force majeure (e.g., inclement weather, terrorism, etc.).
  10. Race Entry Pack Collection (REPC) will be held on 12th October 2025 only, and no packs will be available for collection on event day.

5. Event Participation

  1. 1 Participants under 10 years old must be accompanied by an adult for the 5 km race.
  2. Participants must wear the race bib provided at Entry Pack Collection at all times during the event.
  3. While the organizer will take reasonable precautions to ensure participant safety, participants participate at their own risk. The organizer is not responsible for any injuries or fatalities arising from training for or participating in the event. Participants are strongly advised to consult their doctor before registering.
  4. Participants acknowledge and accept the risks involved in participating, including but not limited to slips and falls, contact with other participants, weather conditions, road conditions, and personal injuries.
  5. It is the responsibility of each participant to inform medical staff or safety marshals if they cannot continue due to injury or fatigue.
  6. Participants who feel unwell or injured should immediately inform medical staff or a safety marshal and stop participating.
  7. If required, participants must retire from the race immediately if instructed by any official medical staff or safety marshal.
  8. The organizer is not responsible for any lost, damaged, or stolen property during the event.
  9. The organizer reserves the right to amend the rules and regulations, which will be reflected on the event’s registration platform. It is the responsibility of participants to stay updated on any changes.
  10. The organizer reserves the right to change the event date, venue, or cancel the event without prior notice. If the event is cancelled before the event day, the organizer will refund the registration fees to participants. If the event is cancelled on the event day due to force majeure or unforeseen circumstances, there will be no refund, and the organizer will not be liable for any loss or inconvenience caused.
  11. The organizer is not responsible for any technical errors, including communication failures, server malfunctions, or issues with the event website.
  12. The organizer reserves the right to disqualify participants who do not complete the entire race or follow the proper procedure.
  13. Participants must read and understand the Personal Data Protection Notice regarding the collection, retention, and use of their personal data. By agreeing, participants authorize the organizer to collect, retain, and disclose their personal data for event purposes.
  14. Participants must accept the final decisions made by the judges appointed by the organizer.
  15. Flag-off time will be announced after approval by the relevant authorities.
  16. Finisher medals will be awarded to participants who complete the race within the qualifying time. No claims will be accepted afterward.
